Is your Cricut mat dirty and gross? Are you considering throwing it out and purchasing a new one? Please don’t! Read on for a quick and easy (did I mention cheap?) way to clean your mat without it losing its stickiness.
There’s nothing like bringing a point home with a good before and after. I have no idea how this mat got so filthy, but craft happens.
WHAT YOU WILL NEED:
- A disgusting Cricut mat – if you don’t have one now, you will soon
- I bought my green mats from Amazon… 3 for $12.99!
- LA’s Totally Awesome Cleaner – you can get a small bottle of this at Dollar Tree
- Stainless steel chopper/scraper – also from the Dollar Tree

Have you ever heard of LA’s Totally Awesome Cleaner? I had not until very recently, but apparently it’s totally awesome! I have yet to use it on anything but my mat, but I think it’s awesome for that alone!
So, give your mat a few sprays all over….
And now grab your scraper and start scraping in one direction. Just when you think your mat couldn’t get any more disgusting… it does!
Once you get all the crap to the top, you can just wipe off with a paper towel. I have to admit, it’s very satisfying to scrape all the junk off your mat. (Please tell me it’s not just me??)
Let your mat air dry, and here’s the final result (yes, they’re still sticky!):
